**About the client**
Our client is Australia's leading domestic horticultural business, who are currently in the process of continuing their expansion across both their production capacity and their supply and marketing operations into their major retailer customer network. Due to some internal change and expanding resources, they have an opportunity to join their team as an Assistant Category Manager based in either their Sydney or Brisbane offices.
**About the role**
Working closely with their General Manager Business Development and Export, you will service existing customer relationships with the major retailers and wholesalers as they continue their journey of growth, diversification and expansion.
You will also work closely with the broader team to review new customer opportunities and channels to market, both domestically and across Asian Export Markets.
You will act as the congruent between grower and retailer, ensuring you are across internal forecasting and supply chain time lines, whilst monitoring order levels and quality requirements. Internal relationships with ripening centers, administrative staff and supply chain coordinators will be key, as well as a true passion for the sector.
Ideally you will have experience working within the horticultural sector, ideally in a sales capacity within the fruit cropping or wholesale markets. You will have interest in broadening your skill set working across the supply chain, including with corporate customers and growers. A high level of written and verbal communication will be expected to communicate with farmers and industry stakeholders, as well as a proactive attitude and ability to take the initiative.
