Overview
The Victoria & Tasmania Maintenance Manager oversees regional equipment maintenance operations, ensuring plant and assets are safe, reliable and cost-effective. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Southern Region, this leadership role works closely with Branch Managers, Workshop Supervisors and operational teams to deliver high-quality service standards and long-term fleet sustainability.
About the role
As the Victoria & Tasmania Maintenance Manager, you will oversee regional equipment maintenance operations, ensuring plant and assets are safe, reliable and cost-effective. Reporting to the Operations Manager – Southern Region, this leadership role works closely with Branch Managers, Workshop Supervisors and operational teams to deliver high-quality service standards and long-term fleet sustainability.
Duties
Lead and mentor Workshop Supervisors and teams across VIC & TAS
Develop and manage preventative maintenance programs
Ensure compliance with WHS, quality and IMS requirements
Drive cost control, asset utilisation and profitability outcomes
Collaborate with senior managers on fleet strategy and planning
Oversee workshop performance, repairs and equipment records
Support training and development of technical staff
Skills & experience
Trade qualification relevant to heavy equipment or mechanical field
Strong leadership and operational management background
Experience in hire, construction, transport or heavy industry
Proficient in MS Office and computerised maintenance systems
Excellent planning, problem solving and communication skills
Strong diagnostic skills across mechanical, hydraulic, auto-electrical and heavy vehicles
Previous hands-on hire industry or workshop experience highly regarded
Current forklift licence (or ability to obtain)
