**The role**:
Reporting to the Production Manager, you will play a key role in coordinating and leading our filleting and smokehouse operations. We are looking for a dynamic, solution-focused leader with strong communication and organisational skills. You will be reliable, self-motivated, and committed to fostering a safe and productive work environment while aligning with Tassal's values.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead and manage the filleting team, ensuring high standards in people safety and product quality.
- Oversee area KPIs, including cost control, yield optimisation, and production output.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a positive team culture.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and relevant external regulations.
- Maintain day-to-day operational control, providing guidance and support to team members.

**Role requirements**:

- Proven experience in team leadership, with a focus on safety and performance management.
- Strong understanding of operational KPIs (cost, yield, output) and process improvement.
- Ability to lead change and build a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of food quality, safety standards, and GMP (desirable but not essential).
- Experience in the food industry or smokehouse operations (advantageous but not mandatory).
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly regarded.
- Driver's licence and reliable transport to get to work.
- A positive, "can-do" attitude with a focus on safety.
- Proof of working rights in Australia.
- Willingness to complete a pre-employment medical assessment and drug test.
