**Position Information**:
Edgeworth Heights Public School serves a large diverse community in North Lake Macquarie with a student enrolment of 365 students, of which approximately 17 % identify as Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander and 4% with English as an Additional Language/Dialect (EAL/D) background.
The school has a strong focus on research based and evidence informed quality teaching, quality learning, student wellbeing and high expectation relationships. The school supports the complex wellbeing of students through Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL).
Staff members are highly dedicated professionals, including early career and experienced teachers. Practices to ensure high levels of professional learning and performance are of the highest priority.
Edgeworth Heights Public School has a positive and active P&C. The school works within a strong Sugarloaf Community of Schools and embraces broader educational alliances, including the local AECG.
**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary
- Demonstrated skills in effectively balancing the dual role of an exemplary classroom teacher with the complex responsibilities of a leadership role and working with other executives.
- Demonstrated ability as a collaborative and inspiring leader with deep understanding of and experience to lead and build capacity in others using high-quality evidenced based research and data driven practice to improve teaching and delivery of curriculum to meet the needs of every child.
- Developed holistic approach to initiatives to enhance students experiences from various backgrounds and skills, such as CAPA and/or Sport.
- Proven ability as an approachable and visible leader with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and experience in building positive and inclusive relationships with students, staff and community.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5.
