Position Details
Music and Band Teacher
St Thomas More Catholic Primary School is a single-stream regional school catering for about 215 students from Pre-Kindy to Year 6.
We are seeking a dynamic, highly skilled and passionate Music and Band teacher who is vibrant, enthusiastic and motivated and loves working in a collaborative, fun and engaging environment.
The position is a Temporary Part-Time position, working days are flexible, with the possibility of the role being extended into the future.
Selection Criteria
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate:

• A commitment to contribute to the Catholicity of the school and its community.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and a commitment to work collaboratively as part of a dedicated teaching team.

• A high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

• A committed and enthusiastic approach to working with children, including strong behaviour management skills which create a supportive and positive learning environment.

• A strong understanding of and ability to teach the WA Music curriculum.

• The ability to teach a Band program to Year 4, 5 and 6 students, with a showcase at the end of the year.

• A willingness to be fully involved in the life of the school and take on extra roles as required.

• A positive, enthusiastic and dynamic demeanour.

• The ability to show initiative, be adaptable and respond flexibly to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic classroom environment.

• Willingness to be a reflective member of a professional learning community.
Qualifications Required

• Relevant 4 -Year Tertiary Qualification.

• Appropriate teaching qualifications in Music and Music Education.

• Accreditation to Work in a Catholic School.
