As an Outage Planner Scheduler at Vales Point Power Station, you'll be at the heart of one of our most critical operations - developing and managing the master outage schedule that keeps complex, multi-discipline works running smoothly and safely.You'll work across all phases of the outage lifecycle, collaborating with engineers, contractors, and project teams to bring together maintenance, capital works, and inspection activities into one coordinated plan.
Your expertise will directly influence the success of high-profile projects that keep the lights on for communities across NSW.What You'll DoPre-Outage PlanningLiaise with internal stakeholders and contractors to consolidate maintenance and capital works schedules into a single master outage programRead and interpret technical job modules to determine required resources, sequencing, and durations for work packagesApply your understanding of boiler, turbine, electrical and chemical work scopes to develop logical, efficient schedulesProvide expert advice on resource levelling to ensure optimal allocation within set outage periodsBuild and maintain the overall outage schedule in MS Project 2016, incorporating key activities, milestones, and interdependenciesIdentify risks, conflicts, and constraints, and work with teams to develop mitigation strategiesMonitor pre-outage works and report progress to the Outage CoordinatorOutage ExecutionGather and verify daily progress data from project leaders, supervisors, and contractorsConduct field checks to confirm progress and update both individual project schedules and the master scheduleMonitor schedule performance, highlight deviations, and recommend corrective actions to maintain timelinesProvide regular updates on critical path activities, resource allocations, and emerging risksPrepare and present schedule performance reports, including S-curves and time/cost forecastsPost-Outage ReviewContribute to the outage close-out report, comparing actual outcomes with the baseline planCapture lessons learned and recommend improvements for future outagesWhat You'll BringProven experience in planning and scheduling large, multi-discipline industrial projectsPractical knowledge of outage works across boilers, turbines, and electrical systems in a power station environmentAdvanced MS Project (2016) and Excel skillsStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skillsAbility to work under pressure with minimal supervisionWe Offer:Earn a competitive salary plus an impressive 14% superannuationEnjoy a great work-life balance in a supportive and family friendly environmentWork a 35-hour week with options for flexible/hybrid work arrangementsTake an extra day off every 4 weeks with our RDO optionEnjoy the flexibility to take on paid overtime if you're interestedBenefit from organisation-wide bonus opportunitiesAccess generous EA benefits and leave options, including additional personal leave, study leave and up to 18 weeks of paid parental leave for eligible employeesTake advantage of ongoing training, leadership programs, study assistance and secondment opportunitiesUtilise our Employee Assistance Program for personal and professional supportEnjoy working close to home on the beautiful Central Coast NSWBenefit from study, fitness, employee discounts and novated lease programsWhy Delta?
