Stargazing Tour Guide

Ever dreamed of magnificent Blue Mountains' sunsets and drifting through a Milky Way backdrop as your office?

As a Stargazing Tour Guide in a growing astrotourism business, you will inspire guests and guide out-of-this-world stargazing tours at Wentworth Falls, in the Blue Mountains on weekends. You will be joining a team of passionate astronomers and co-hosts.

As a business born in the midst of winter 2020, we grew rapidly by attracting thousands of sky-curious visitors. We won the 2021 Start Up Superstars award at Western Sydney Award Business Excellence (WSABE) and 2021 Customer Service Excellence Award at The Entourage Awards. We were Finalists in the 2021 NSW Tourism Awards in the New Business category. We blend breathtaking Night Sky tours with outstanding dining experiences by bringing our astrotours into uncharted territories. Our bespoke events include collaborations with local businesses such as our popular Wine Tasting Stargazing with Dryridge Estate, Dinners Under the Stars with Secret Creek Cafe, Cocktails Stargazing evenings with The Bunker Leura and more ? the sky's the limit.

**THE ROLE**
- Deliver captivating and inspiring 90-min Stargazing, Planetarium tours (indoor tours) and Online tours to guests of all ages
- Keep an audience of 20 guests entertained and engaged throughout the tour (private tours, public tours, corporate groups and school groups)
- Answer guests' questions
- Set up the tour and telescopes, planetarium, projector. This involves being able to stand for extended periods of time, sometimes in cold weather, and to lift and move telescopes and equipment (up to 20 kgs)
- Encourage tour feedback and reviews

**THE IDEAL CANDIDATE**
- Excellent knowledge of astronomy and current space news
- Exceptional people skills and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in public speaking
- Demonstrated ability to communicate scientific information to people of all ages and levels
- Demonstrated teaching and/or guiding experience in astronomy is preferred
- Proficiency in using the most recent computerised telescopes is a plus
- Available in the evening on weekends
- Current Car Driver's license and own car
- Valid working visa
- Valid Working With Children Check
