**Position Information**:
Plumpton House School is an inclusive Year 5 to Year 12 Emotional Disturbance/Behaviour Disorder (ED/BD) School for Specific Purposes (SSP). Plumpton House School supports students with complex behavioural/emotional needs and is committed to providing students with an educational environment where they are supported to thrive academically, develop good physical, mental and emotional health and gain the skills to live fulfilling, independent lives post-school. The school has an enrolment of 42 students, approximately 50% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander. A balanced, comprehensive curriculum catering for differences in achievement and ability is provided to students. Effective literacy and numeracy programs are complemented by co-curricular priorities in the Arts, sport and vocational skills programs, delivered on site and through community-access programs. The curriculum is tailored to individual students and reasonable adjustments within teaching strategies are supported in everyday practice. Plumpton House School has a committed and professional staff, ranging from early career through to highly experienced. The executive team plays an integral role to ensure quality programs are delivered to students by highly skilled teachers. Students learn in well-resourced classrooms located in recently upgraded outdoor environments which have been designed to engage children and young people.

**Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, proven ability to be a caring, open, approachable and visible leader with outstanding personal and interpersonal skills.

Highly effective educational leadership skills with a proven ability to model instructional leadership and continuous improvement, using the Strategic Improvement Plan as the key driver. A deep understanding of Department and Government policy and procedures relating to the complexities of special education.

Demonstrated capacity to lead staff to develop students' academic, social, emotional, physical and creative growth. A strong commitment to enhancing partnerships with parents/carers and community organisations.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain authentic and deep educational and cultural partnerships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, staff and community members.

**General Selection Criteria**:
1. High level educational leadership with the skills to lead and manage a complex public school focused on the delivery of high quality education

2. Ability to lead and manage rigorous and inclusive whole school teaching and learning programs

3. High level communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build positive relationships and engage all levels of the school and educational community

4. Ability to lead and manage the development and performance of staff to improve teaching and learning

5. Ability to plan systems and manage resources effectively and equitably to enhance teaching and learning

6. Capacity to lead staff in implementing the Department's Aboriginal education policies and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people
