ASC is Australia's submarine company.
We built the Royal Australian Navy's Collins Class submarines, sustain them, and are now delivering their Life of Type Extension to increase the boats' service lives.
We have also been selected by the Australian Government to sustain and jointly build the nation's nuclear-powered submarines – the largest and most complex industrial undertaking in Australia's history.
Our work is interesting and meaningful, contributing directly to Australia's national security.
We offer rewarding roles that provide the opportunity to grow your career, and the flexibility to balance life and work.
A career at ASC is like no other, delivering a deeper purpose we can all be proud of.
About the Opportunity
As our new Transfer of Technology (ToT) Training Specialist, you will co-develop and implement training strategies that support ASC's future programs and capability development goals.
You'll lead gap analysis and design structured transfer plans in collaboration with Knowledge Transfer Leads, local training entities, and educational institutions.
Working closely with ASC's Learning & Development (L&D) team and the Shipbuilding Training Academy (STA), you'll ensure effective transfer and delivery of training modules to build and sustain critical capabilities.
Responsibilities
Co-develop and implement ToT training strategies aligned with ASC's future programs.
Facilitate gap analysis using ToT tools to identify training needs and capability gaps.
Collaborate with Knowledge Transfer Leads, L&D, and overseas partners to define training transfers.
Coordinate with the STA to ensure effective delivery of transferred training modules.
Ensure training programs meet compliance, competency frameworks, and ASC policies.
Build strong relationships across ToT teams, promoting cultural awareness and shared goals.
About you
10+ years' experience in adult education, L&D, or training delivery in complex environments.
Skilled in gap analysis, competency mapping, and progression frameworks.
Experience leading training transfers in multicultural defence programs.
Strong understanding of shipbuilding, manufacturing, and engineering processes.
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement across diverse teams.
Able to work independently, manage priorities, and navigate cultural nuances.
Relevant tertiary qualifications in education, training, or engineering; trade background desirable.
Eligibility
This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.
Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
