Overview
Assistant Vendor Manager internship in Girona, Spain. The trainee role is to work alongside the Vendor Manager to gain experience in procurement and project management within an international team. Training is provided to develop skills in coordinating complex multilingual projects and liaising with freelance translators using company software systems.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Project Management and Commercial departments regarding procurement needs and available resources
Research industry standard pricing to provide up-to-date recommendations on pricing and resource capacities
Coordinate with the Quality Assurance department to develop and document process improvements addressing customer procurement-related complaints
Assist the Vendor Manager to recruit, vet, test, and evaluate new external resources
Assess and maintain data integrity of the vendor database
Develop innovative ways to find new vendors and ensure full utilization of vetted resources
Qualifications
High level of numeracy
Native level in English
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Negotiation skills
Problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail
IT proficient
Attention to details is imperative
Spanish language or translation skills are not obligatory for the role
Benefits
The student will have an official work contract with McFelder during the placement period
Students normally receive an ERASMUS grant; salary of 430€ (minus 2% Spanish tax, as required by law)
Working hours: Monday to Thursday 9:00–14:00 and 15:00–18:00, Friday 9:00–14:30
Placement period: during the placement term
