Golding are currently seeking an experienced and highly capable Maintenance Superintendent (Mobile Equipment) to join our team on-site at the Curragh Mine project in Blackwater.
This is a DIDO or residential position, working on an 8/6 even-time roster.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in managing mobile equipment maintenance within a mining operation—including excavators, haul trucks, dozers, graders, and ancillary equipment—and in delivering on safety, environmental, fleet availability, personnel, and cost performance targets.
Strong experience in excavator maintenance planning, diagnostics, and optimisation will be highly regarded.
Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage maintenance personnel to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance activities.
Implement, monitor, and enforce Golding's plant maintenance management systems on-site with discipline and consistency.
Ensure compliance and drive continuous improvement in maintenance practices, focusing on reducing fleet downtime and maintenance costs.
Collaborate with the Mining Engineer and Mining Superintendent to align maintenance input with production planning to optimise fleet utilisation.
Develop and maintain rolling maintenance plans that support both maintenance and production schedules.
Create life-of-project maintenance strategies for all site equipment—including large excavators—identifying opportunities to enhance availability and reduce costs.
Capture and utilise historical maintenance data to improve planning and scheduling accuracy.
Prepare detailed work packs and documentation aligned with OEM specifications, contractual obligations, and safety requirements.
Manage maintenance resources, including inventory and budgeting, to meet project requirements.
Communicate promptly with management regarding resource gaps or issues impacting maintenance delivery, production, or cost.
Lead and authorise ICAM investigations within your scope, ensuring reports reflect sound analysis and clear, actionable recommendations.
Analyse maintenance data to identify trends and implement strategies for performance improvement.
Prepare and submit maintenance plans, budgets, and reports in accordance with project timelines and requirements.
Actively lead and participate in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings to address maintenance priorities and issues.
Key Requirements: Prior experience in Australian open-cut mining operations is highly desirable.
Trade qualification in a relevant field or a degree in Mechanical Engineering is essential.
Strong knowledge of industry best practice maintenance methods and techniques.
Demonstrated experience in maintaining and managing excavator fleets, including major component change-outs and reliability improvement initiatives.
Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office Suite is desirable.
Commercially astute with strong financial and cost control skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage complex and competing priorities effectively.
Skilled in analysing maintenance, safety, and financial performance data to implement meaningful improvements.
