Assistant Superintendent

Warringah Golf Club situated on Sydney's Northern Beaches is seeking to employ an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our course maintenance team in the capacity of an Assistant Superintendent.

Warringah golf club is one of Sydney's busiest golf courses, renowned for its course presentation, robust membership base, and dedication to ongoing improvement.

Warringah Golf club has 18 holes with practice facilities and greens made up of a Bent / Poa mix. Fairways and surrounds are predominantly Kikuyu; tees are a mix of Couch and Kikuyu.

We are seeking an Assistant Course Superintendent (2IC) to join our dedicated turf team. The successful applicant will report directly to the course Superintendent, assisting in all aspects of course maintenance, attend meetings, and fill in for the role as Superintendent during his absence.

This year, the Club will commence work on a new clubhouse and course renovations will continue in following years. Experience in course construction projects is advantageous.

The applicant will assist the Superintendent to help plan, schedule and monitor all daily maintenance operations and have experience in all aspects of turf maintenance including:

· Competence in operating and maintaining turf care machinery

· Chemical and Fertiliser timing and application

· Renovation practices

· Familiarity with irrigation systems, basic troubleshooting, and a commitment to water efficiency

· Day to day general duties on the course

· Strong knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements/procedures relevant to the turf industry

· Assist to organise weekly work schedules for the greenkeeping team

· Invoicing, ordering and costing as required

Minimum Requirements for this position are:

· Certificate 3 in Sports Turf Management

· Certified Sports Turf Manager (CTSM) or intention to complete is preferred

· Full Drivers Licence

· Chemical Application Licence (AQF3)

· The ability to provide strong leadership to the existing team, including inductions and staff training where required.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
