The role
Reporting to the Director of Midwifery within the Office of the Chief Nursing and Midwifery Office you will provide project management and governance expertise to drive and implement the Perinatal Mental Health Screening Initiative (PMHSI) which aims to enhance culturally safe perinatal mental health screening for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and enhance capture and reporting of nationally consistent perinatal mental health data. You will develop project documentation to undertake activities and tasks that align to the Perinatal Mental Health Screening Initiative and Growing Deadly Families Strategy for culturally safe perinatal mental health screening tools to ensure the successful delivery of project activities.

Furthermore, you will be responsible for providing high level, timely advice on health policy, legislation and related issues to the Division, senior Departmental officers, and the Minister.

The successful person
To be successful in this role you will have a comprehensive understanding and breadth of experience in health priority areas especially, maternity, and early years; the health needs of First Nations and other key population groups; and key health system issues. You will have the ability to manage and deliver on projects, undertake research, interpret trends, and provide detailed interpretation and analysis of reports, discussion papers and other project documentation and to provide advice on policies and strategies.

In addition to this, you will have the proven ability to communicate with influence, interpersonal, negotiation and stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate productive working relationships and networks.
