Overview
This role is ideal for a payroll professional who thrives under time pressure, enjoys working with SAP technology, and has a strong grasp of Australian payroll legislation.
As theSAP Payroll Specialist, you will deliver national payroll accurately for approximately 30,000 team members, on-time every week.
This is a critical payroll finalisation role where you will complete payroll using SAP's Payroll Control Centre (PCC), ensuring accuracy and compliance during weekly processing cycles, particularly on peak days (Monday and Tuesday).
Responsibilities
Processing end-to-end weekly payroll for Dan Murphy's, BWS and ALH employees (circa 30,000 team members) using SAP Employee Central Payroll, with competency in processing finalisation through PCC.
Completing post payroll activities including STP reconciliation
Timely resolution of complex payroll cases using Service Now
Processing of payment adjustments, termination payments, overpayments
Performing month end superannuation reconciliation, followed by file submission
Maintain and manage payroll process and policy documentation as required and actively share knowledge and cross skill team members
Identify key risk areas and develop/implement action plans to ensure ongoing compliance
What we need from you
You will bring to the role a strong knowledge and understanding of Australian Payroll
Minimum of 5 years payroll experience.
Systems experience - SAP ECP is necessary, Service Now and/or UKG is also ideal.
Experience working in larger organisations, within a fast paced environment, managing high volume payroll.
Knowledge of Australian legislation and award interpretation.
Ability to solve complex problems relating to payroll, leave and GL accounts.
Excellent time management skills, eye for detail and accuracy.
Ability to document and deliver process improvements.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
