Role Overview

We are seeking a practical, hands-on Piping Supervisor to lead on-site piping installation and commissioning activities across projects in the Perth region. This is a workshop/site-based role: you'll supervise piping crews, manage daily progress, enforce quality and safety, and ensure pipe systems are installed and commissioned to specification.

Location: Rockingham / Greater Perth (workshop/site-based)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise day-to-day piping installation and onsite welding activities across site workfronts.
  • Read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs and installation work packs to sequence and plan tasks.
  • Set up and manage onsite welding stations (including purging requirements) and maintain flange management records.
  • Coordinate crews, subcontractors and plant to meet schedule milestones and resolve delays.
  • Ensure adherence to piping codes and standards during fabrication, fit-up and commissioning activities.
  • Complete quality documentation (ITPs, inspection records, non-conformance reports) and handover packages.
  • Monitor progress, report daily to project leads and proactively manage resources to reduce rework.
  • Lead toolbox talks, enforce WHS procedures and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
  • Mentor and develop tradespeople; assist with rostering and site inductions.

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Recognised trade background in fabrication/welding (Cert III or equivalent preferred).
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a site supervisory or foreperson piping role.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret piping isometrics, P&IDs and related documentation.
  • Experience with flange management, commissioning pipework and setting up welding/purging.
  • Familiarity with piping materials including stainless steel, carbon steel and nickel alloys.
  • Knowledge of relevant piping codes (eg. ASME B31.3/B31.1, ASME IX) and quality systems.
  • Strong communication, leadership and crew-management skills.
  • Current WA driver's licence and Construction induction (White Card).
