The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Patient Care Assistant (PCA) to join our Internal Patient Transport team on a part-time basis.

In this rewarding role, you will play a vital part in ensuring patient comfort, dignity, and safety while contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the hospital.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Transport patients safely between wards, departments, and theatres.
  • Assist with patient manual handling using appropriate equipment and aides.
  • Provide support to clinical staff and assist patients on admission to settle in comfortably.
  • Assist with emergency responses as required.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and patient areas in line with infection control standards.
  • Carry out additional duties as directed by the Patient Transport Manager or hospital coordinators.

About You

You thrive in a busy hospital setting, adapt quickly to changing demands, and consistently uphold high standards of service and professionalism.

You will bring:

  • Certificate III in Aged Care, Health Services, or Care Support (desirable).
  • Previous experience in a hospital or healthcare setting.
  • Knowledge of infection control, manual handling, and safety procedures.
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and time management skills.

Highly regarded qualifications/experience:

  • Currently studying Nursing (Year 2 or 3).
  • Certificate IV in Health Services Assistance.
