About CES - Accelerating the transition to a circular economy

We are proud to be an active contributor in the circular economy through container deposit schemes (10c refund for eligible drink containers). We help our scheme partners to recycle close to 10 million drink containers every day, diverting them from landfill into the circular economy.

Our technology and services enable the circular lifecycle of drink containers. We have a large in-house software engineering team using modern technology stacks to develop and support our products. As well as a suite of SaaS products, our range of business services includes accounting, payments, brand & marketing, materials trading, HR, customer service and support.

CES was formed in 2017 as a joint venture between Lion and Coca-Cola Europacific Partners and has grown rapidly. About the role

We're looking for a highly skilled React Native Engineer to join CES on a 6-month contract (with potential extension) to help deliver a point-of-sale (POS) mobile app, and continue on to enhance our Customer App. This is a hands-on build role with an exciting AI twist - you'll not only deliver the app, but also pilot our AI tooling and workflow in our engineering teams.

Key Deliverables

• Build & deliver a mobile app in React Native with online/offline capability, API back end, identity management (Entra Id) and web views.

• Leverage AI Native tooling (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Lovable, etc.) Agents, MCP and Workflows.

• Integrate APIs (authentication, authorisation, device local data and security controls).

• Build mocks ahead of services build

• High Quality code with test automation baked in from unit to UI and integration tests.

• Collaborate on design: take Figma designs into React Native, work with design systems, and help bring this capability in-house.

• Share knowledge within the team and help upskill engineers (e.g. bridging JavaScript/TypeScript into Microsoft stack.

About you

• Deep React Native expertise, with experience building and shipping high quality production apps

• AI-Native Development Practices - you will need to be highly AI proficient with the latest AI technologies.

• Strong API knowledge - building, consuming, and securing APIs.

• Knowledge of databases (on device) and offline design.

• Understanding of identity management and device-side data handling and synchronisation.

• Comfort working on secure POS-like applications (payments background nice to have, not essential).

• Experience with design-to-code workflows and working with design systems.

• Excellent communicator and collaborator - you'll be pairing, sharing knowledge, and helping shape development processes.

Nice to have

• Prior experience with customer-facing mobile apps.

• Experience in Mob programming.

• Experience in managing printing in React Native/iOS.
