Role Overview

We're looking for a React Native Engineer to join our small but fast-moving team. You'll work on both our existing Gravl app and new app initiatives from the ground up. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in startup environments, enjoys autonomy, and can take ownership of complex mobile features end-to-end.

Responsabilities

  • Build and maintain high-quality mobile applications using React Native, Expo and TypeScript
  • Work closely with designers and product leads to deliver smooth, intuitive user experiences
  • Implement offline-first architecture to ensure seamless performance for users in low-connectivity environments
  • Contribute to the native layer of our apps: write and maintain native modules when React Native bridges aren't enough, and work with SwiftUI for iOS integrations (ideal but not mandatory)
  • Architect and launch new apps from scratch, bringing ideas from prototype to App Store and Google Play release
  • Collaborate with backend engineers to design APIs and data flows
  • Contribute to code reviews, testing practices, and overall code quality

Requirements

  • 3+ years of mobile development experience
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript
  • Hands-on experience with Expo in production apps
  • Proven experience with native modules and bridging React Native with native code
  • Familiarity with SwiftUI (ideal but not strictly required)
  • Strong understanding of offline-first app design, including data sync, caching and persistence
  • Experience building and shipping at least one app from scratch to production
  • Solid understanding of mobile performance, animations and app lifecycle
  • Ability to work independently in a startup environment where speed, ownership and adaptability are key

  • Familiarity with Apple HealthKit or Google Fit integrations
  • Strong eye for design and passion for building polished UI and user experiences
