What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Rostering and Planning Support Advisor within the Quintiq National Coordination Team (NCT) at the Band 5 level.

The NCT sits within the Business Services branch, as part of the broader Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Command.

Business Services is a multifaceted branch, which directly contributes to AFP operational outcomes, providing support and enabling our people to deliver maximum impact to the criminal environment.

Quintiq is the AFP's time recording, rostering and planning software. The solution enhances the AFP's enterprise wide rostering capability that supports increased workforce visibility, flexibility, improves rostering practices, promotes consistency, and aligns with better practice. Quintiq is used for time recording and rostering with supervisors and planners working closely together to achieve operational outcomes.

The Quintiq NCT is responsible for:

Supporting the rostering and planning for AFP staff (sworn and unsworn) located around the country.

Developing and maintaining the governance and standards associated with ensuring best rostering and time recording practices are adopted across the AFP.

Providing a service and support capability for staff in the use of Quintiq.

Maintaining the ongoing training and development in the use of Quintiq.

What will you do?

You will find the work varied and rewarding, providing opportunities to think, plan and collaborate creatively while delivering service & support outcomes within set timeframes and standards. The role requires discretion, tact and diplomacy in dealing with sensitive and/or confidential matters.

Key responsibilities include:

Provide guidance, mentoring, and support to Band 4 Team Members to achieve operational goals.

Monitor workload distribution, addressing bottlenecks and workflow issues.

Provide support to Band 4 Team Members conducting compliance checks to ensure adherence to the AFP Governance Framework.

Assist with the administration and management of the Quintiq Community of Practice.

Develop and implement strategies to enhance user engagement and satisfaction.

Monitor and respond to complex queries, ensuring timely response and documentation.

Identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.

Build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Act as a point of escalation for complex issues, ensuring prompt and effective resolution.

Contribute to the development and review of policies and procedures relevant to the role.

Participate in training programs, workshops, and initiatives to enhance professional knowledge and skills.

Undertake other duties as required, consistent with the Band 5 work level standards.

Essential Requirements

A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills.

Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.

Highly developed organisational and time management abilities to manage multiple tasks, changing deadlines and priorities.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and achieve outcomes in a busy and challengingenvironment.

Demonstrated ability to proactively contribute within a team.

Desirable Requirements

Experience in using the Quintiq Rostering system (or equivilant).

Demonstrated experience working in Human Resources or Industrial Relations.

Demonstrated leadership or coaching experience.

Additional Information

This is a AFP Band Level 5 Position.

This position is being advertised to fill current vacancies in Canberra and to create a merit pool for future ongoing or non-ongoing vacancies over the next 12 months.

Roles may be located in Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth and successful applicants will work from within these office locations.
