The Team
Deployment Management Teams provide forward-looking human resource policies, strategies and processes to best support employees operating internationally both now and into the future. To support the AFP's International Operations, the team manages a variety of key functions through the below teams:
Governance and Training
The Governance and Training team is responsible for facilitating the International Pre-Deployment Briefing program which prepares our AFP members to deploy offshore. This provides support to Coordinator IC Deployment Management and Commander International Strategy to develop projects, executive briefs, governance documents, advice and/or policies that support the Command's future direction and deliverables. As a member of this team you will be motivated and innovative, have the ability to plan for, coordinate and facilitate programs of work, such as the International Training Program and enjoy facing new challenges each day.
Deployment Resourcing
The Deployment Resourcing team implement recruitment, selection and returns processes in line with AFP Key initiatives and other strategies and governance. As a member of the team, you will demonstrate a commitment to application of merit-based principles and fair and transparent selection processes and development opportunities. You enjoy thinking and planning ahead and try to anticipate changes in the environment or emerging problems and consider solutions to resolve them or escalate as appropriate.
Deployment Management
The Deployment Management team provide professional, timely and consistent advice on the application and management of the overseas employment framework. The team ensures that employees have completed the necessary requirements and training to ensure that they are adequately prepared for their deployment. The team operates under a client manager model, meaning that you will develop and manage strong relationships with people across the organisation.
As a member in this team, you will be energised to find solutions to complex questions, and no two questions are the same. You will enjoy the challenge of trying to provide a balanced view of what is right for both an individual employee or group of employees, and the organisation. Collaboration with your peers on the grey areas, to inform and develop continuous improvement in process and policy is important.

- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one

- This role is located in Canberra and applicants are expected to be based in Canberra
