Position Overview

The Heavy Vehicle Mechanic will be responsible for the hands-on implementation of maintenance, scheduled servicing, inspection, and testing of a diverse range of heavy vehicles and fleet assets. This role requires a commitment to safety and adherence to manufacturer guidelines and organisational policies.

As a key member of our Fleet and Logistics unit, you will be expected to undertake all aspects of heavy vehicle mechanics, ensuring that all work is performed to a high standard while also being adaptable to work in various areas as needed.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Heavy Vehicle Mechanic who meets the following criteria:

  • Essential: Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant), MVRIA Mechanic's licence, Class C Driver's licence.
  • Desirable: Class HR Driver's licence, RMS Vehicle Examiners Licence (Heavy Vehicles), Certificate III in Automotive Electrical, National High Risk Licence (DG), Forklift Licence.
  • At least one year of post-trade experience servicing and repairing heavy vehicles.
  • Experience with hydraulic systems, electrical systems, and a diverse range of vehicles and plant equipment is an advantage.

The ideal candidate will possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, effective communication abilities, and a commitment to teamwork and continuous improvement in all aspects of their work.

  • Package: From $88,668 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation includes $16,242,48 market allowance and $1,608.46 pump allowance.
  • Hours of work: Temporary full time (12 months contract) 38 hours per week with a 9 day fortnight
