THE POSITION:

Fairfield
City Council's City Delivery, Parks and Open Space department is seeking a
dedicated and hardworking Plant Operator to join our Open Space Branch. This
role involves using mowers, tractors, and weed spraying equipment to assist in
the maintenance and upkeep of Council's parks, gardens, and open spaces.

We
are looking for a physically fit and safety-conscious operator who takes pride
in their work and is committed to delivering high-quality service. The
successful candidate will be responsible for the daily operation, maintenance,
and care of plant and equipment, ensuring all tasks are carried out to the
highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.

As
a key member of our team, you will contribute to the ongoing maintenance and
enhancement of Fairfield's open spaces, providing essential services to the

ESSENTIAL

  • Current Class 1A driver's licence
  • Knowledge and practical application of
    WHS principles and Work Health and Safety legislation.
  • Operating plant and equipment.

DESIRABLE

  • Experience with operating weed spraying
    equipment.
  • Hold a current 'Chemcert' (Chemical
    Handling) qualification.
  • Demonstrated experience equipment
    including operating out-front mowers.

SALARY
& EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS:

  • Permanent positions, 76 hours per fortnight
  • This position is a Grade B, salary range is $60,239 p.a. with progression to $62,949p.a. on demonstrated competencies, with performance progression to $70,522 p.a.
  • A Uniform is provided
  • On the job training will be provided
