About the role

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the Construction Manager takes full accountability for the safe, on‑time and on‑budget delivery of all construction work sites across Melbourne's East. This is a hands‑on leadership role and the critical link between Head Office, Project Managers and site teams.

In this role you will

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations across multiple Eastern‑suburbs sites, ensuring compliance with governance, quality and OHS requirements
  • Responsible for program and budget performance: drive sequencing, resourcing and cost control to achieve milestones and quality outcomes.
  • Build and manage the supply chain: identify, engage and develop high‑performing subcontractors and suppliers in Melbourne's East.
  • Coach, mentor and uplift the site teams; build capability and succession.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients, consultants, authorities and partners
  • Champion a proactive safety culture through regular site visits, audits and corrective actions.
  • Oversee QA/defects process to ensure smooth PC, handover and customer satisfaction.
About you
  • Minimum Diploma of Building & Construction (Building) or similar.
  • 3+ years in a Construction Management / Building Supervisor leadership role (residential/townhouse desirable).
  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of Australian Standards, NCC and Victorian OHS legislation.
  • Strong residential construction knowledge, with a track record delivering to program and budget.
  • Commercial acumen with experience forecasting, managing and achieving budgets.
  • Collaborative leader and coach with excellent communication and stakeholder skills.
  • Full driver's licence.
  • Bonus points for local knowledge of Eastern‑suburbs councils and utilities (e.g., Whitehorse, Manningham, Monash, Maroondah, Knox, Boroondara).
