Assemco has been a market leader in the outsourcing industry for the past 25 years. Partnering with Kenworth Trucks Australia and many other notable customers for their assembly requirements.

AssasCo (our Steel Fabrication division) at Assemco is looking for an experienced day shift Brake Press Operator for full time position. Primary industries include automotive, commercial, and industrial fabrication. The role on offer is suited to an all-rounder with the ability to interpret working drawings and execute fabrication tasks with accuracy and efficiency.

Reporting to Product Development Manager, responsibilities include:

  • Complete fabrication tasks in given timeframe

  • Assist other team members as directed in all areas of the AssasCo business

  • Ability to change machine tooling for different jobs

  • Follow standard work practices and maintain a safe work environment.

Specialist knowledge, competencies, and skills:

  • Experience operating a brake press machine (5yrs )

  • Ability to change tooling for different bends

  • Not all work using the same tooling, ability to interchange tools

  • Able to work autonomously for night shift

  • Able to self motivate due to night shift

  • Ability to read and follow technical drawings

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions

  • Willingness to be hands on and jump in on all customer jobs

  • Experience working with Aluminium, Mild and Stainless Steel

  • Valid Australian Forklift licence (advantage)

  • Visa holders no restrictions or applying for PR welcome

  • Valid Car driver's licence (Essential)

  • Forklift licence (preferred)

  • First Aid (desired)

  • Good OHS practices & knowledge
