What we offer

As an integral member of the finance team, this role will predominantly focus on the day-to-day finance activities in relation to the battery assets across Victoria, NSW, Queensland and SA. This role will also provide exposure to managing project lender obligations post financial close including disbursement and reporting.

What you will do

Key Responsibilities: 

Financial reporting, tax, management reporting and analysis

  • Managing day-to-day finance activities including review and reconciliation of revenue and purchase transactions, month-end closing journals and other monthly finance tasks under various project and financing arrangements.
  • Reviewing monthly management accounts both consolidated and unconsolidated.
  • Performing variance analysis and reporting (including actual vs budget analysis on revenue, operational costs and capital expenditures).
  • Preparation of BAS working files and review of BAS returns.
  • Preparation of Annual income tax working files and review of annual income tax returns.
  • Drafting of half year and annual financial statements in accordance with Australian Accounting Standards/International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Liaising with auditors and internal and external tax advisors
  • Supporting in the review of key project and financing agreements and identify financial implications and financial reporting disclosure requirements.
  • Supporting the AU Finance team to monitoring and ensuring compliance with various reporting to internal and external stakeholders
  • Supporting cash flow and treasury management process and reporting.

Job Requirements

What you can offer

Required Skills: 

  • At least 3 - 5 years of accounting experience and knowledge and experience of preparing analysing and/or reviewing financial statements and budgets.
  • Exposure to tax compliance, particularly income tax and GST will be viewed favourably.
  • Working knowledge of/experience in technical accounting standards including those relating to PPE, consolidation, leases, financial instruments and tax effect accounting.
  • Previous experience within the renewables or energy generation industries will be viewed favourably.
