Town Planning Consultant
to help build on this success.

About the opportunity

The successful applicant will play a pivotal role in shaping the business at our new
Parramatta Office in Western Sydney
reporting to the Managing Director.

Our work is diverse and includes residential apartments, mixed use and industrial developments, boarding houses, places of public worship and child care centres and a range of planning proposals both for urban and regional locations. We also have an extensive portfolio of court appeal work which the right candidate will assist with.

We are a well-established practice with close relationships with business partners across a number of disciplines including architecture, engineering and land surveying. We encourage collaboration and learning across these disciplines to build a strong understanding of the development cycle in all our staff.

Responsibilities

The types of tasks you will undertake includes:

  • Timely and accurate preparation of a range of planning reports including Statement's of Environmental Effects, Planning Proposals and Scoping Proposals (Rezoning Applications), Social Impact Assessments, Plans of Management, Waste Management Plans, Clause 4.6 Variations, Planning Submissions, Statements of Facts and Contentions, Joint Expert Reports, Planning Due Diligence, Request for SEARs, Environmental Impact Statements
  • Developing client relationships and providing fast and reliable advice on a range of planning and property development matters
  • Writing fee proposals and responses to RFQs and Tenders
  • Managing projects to ensure that client needs are being met in line within agreed timelines and budget in a commercial context
  • Representing the business in the field with clientele, Land and Environmental Court and or local/state government agencies and presenting as an authoritative town planning expert

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree in Town/Urban Planning
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of the NSW planning system
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong commercial acumen
  • Strong attention to detail
  • A natural self-starter
  • Committed to ongoing learning and development

Salary & conditions

  • $85,000 - $95,000 plus superannuation
  • Full-time
