Your Role

St John of God Mount Lawley Hospital is seeking an experienced Human Resource Advisor to provide customer focused human resource services to internal and external customers, including advice and support in relation to HR practices and processes, policies, current industrial relations legislation, enterprise agreements and workforce strategies.

Reporting to the Director Corporate Services, this hospital based role will see you responsible for collaboratively business partnering with all hospital  stakeholders in order to drive better decision-making and improve overall business outcomes.

The role is offered on a permanent part time basis working 30.4 hours per week.

The Position

  • Support, assist, coach and collaborate with Managers by developing plans and strategies to deliver desired outcomes in developing culture, caregiver capability and an engaged and effective workforce.

  • Provide advice and assistance to Managers on caregiver performance management and improvement strategies.

  • Assist with HR and business analytics, working with Managers to develop, implement and support strategies that lead to improved performance and operational target achievements.

  • Assist Managers in the oversight of caregiver non-work related 'Fitness for Work' activities and Workers Compensation Cases, including liaison with Group and Injury Management Teams on appropriate management.

  • Assist and support Managers with interactions with Union Representatives on employee related matters in conjunction with the Group IR Advisory Service. This includes coordination of hospital visitations and education sessions from Union representatives, caregiver Salary Packaging providers, AHPRA and various other external service providers as required.

  • Support and work with the Group IR Advisory Service in relation to various case management (including formal performance management, performance improvement plans, grievances, workplace investigations and non-work-related fitness for work matters).

  • Actively support leaders in the adoption and utilisation of HR systems, specifically Workday.

  • Support and coach leaders in ideally preventing, or managing, complex and/or high-risk ER/IR and workplace matters to mitigate risk and foster a safe and productive environment.

  • Foster an understanding and alignment between the Hospital operational goals and Human Resource responsibilities and activities to facilitate strong partnerships across the broader organisation

  • Participate in Aboriginal Engagement and Recruitment strategies for the Hospital in line with KPI requirements.

  • Participate in Disability Recruitment strategies for the Hospital in line with Hospital Group objectives

You will have a tertiary qualification in a Human Resource related discipline with a sound generalist HR knowledge base. An enthusiastic and committed approach, together with a track record of building strong trust-based relationships with stakeholders will give you the capability to deliver Human Resource Services in a complex work environment.

Experience in the healthcare sector, and/or experience in developing an Employee Value Proposition facilitating and enabling organisational change together with a working knowledge of Agile and Lean principles will be highly regarded.
