Water Feature Technician

This unique position requires a high level of autonomy and self management whilst working within a team environment. The role necessitates a willingness to work across all areas of the Water Management Team to deliver water management services in Melbourne's open space network.

About you

You will have sound problem solving skills with the ability to achieve effective and efficient solutions to challenges and changes and have effective time and workload skills and the ability to prioritise tasks. You will have experience in a previous role and enjoy working individually and as a part of a wider team.

About the Role:

Reporting to the Water Team Leader, The Water Feature Technician will be responsible for:

· Maintaining all water assets to the highest standard, therefore exceeding contract standards

· Servicing fountains and ponds on a daily basis to ensure they are litter / leaf / debris free

· Regularly tests and chemical dose water to maintain water quality and chemical balance

· Undertaking major cleans and repairs of water features on a scheduled basis or as required

· Servicing and maintaining associated assets including UV lamps, aerators, filters and pumps

· Assisting in all areas of the Water Team as required including plumbing, irrigation & storm water

· Accurately keeping required records and report all issues, defects and repairs promptly

· Working safely at all times

· Undertaking confined space entry

· Fault finding and diagnostic work to trace, identify and scope issues for repair

· Assisting the Water Manager to quote new or reinstated works as requested

· Liaising with sub-contractors and supervise works carried out

The successful candidate will have:

· Current driver's licence

· Trade Certificate in Plumbing, Water Chemistry or equivalent

· Experience maintaining water features, fountains or similar assets

· Skills in irrigation system maintenance

· Ability to recognise water quality issues

· OHS&E awareness
