Educational Leader

We are currently recruiting for an
Educational Leader
at our
YMCA Gainsborough Outside School Hours Care
on a permanent part time basis.

About The Position
This position will lead the development and implementation of the education program by promoting children's well-being, development and learning by helping the children develop values, attitudes and ways of living and learning.

The Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Limited To)

• Lead the development and implementation of the educational program and assessment with the support of Assistant Coordinator/Coordinator
• Ensure children's learning and development informs the design of the educational program, and Educators facilitate and extend each child's learning and development
• Liaise effectively with parents, staff and all internal and external stakeholders
• Make recommendations for improvements to Educators' educational programs and practices
• Mentor and support Educators understanding of the educational program and practice including how to reflect on the effectiveness of their programs, interactions, intentional teaching and other strategies
• Ensure compliance with policy
• Undertake administrative requirements
• Work collaboratively with families and the school community

Selection Criteria

• A Diploma in Children's Services or equivalent and demonstrated experience in Early Childhood Education
• Minimum three years' experience in an Early Childhood Education and Care setting
• Comprehensive working knowledge of the approved learning framework;
• Demonstrated ability to coach and mentor others
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comprehensive working knowledge of child development, attachment, learning
• A demonstrated understanding of evidence-based best practice approaches to teaching and learning
• Working knowledge of leadership theory and the use of a range of leadership styles
• Well-developed critical thinking skills, including the ability to analyse and challenge conventional practice and ideas
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification
• Currently possess, or be willing to obtain a Blue Card
