Fire Safety Engineer Consultant

You'll work closely with experienced engineers and directors to develop performance-based fire engineering solutions, gain greater project ownership, and strengthen your technical and consulting expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the delivery of performance-based fire engineering solutions for diverse projects — from high-rise precincts and airports to defence facilities and community housing.
• Assist in preparing fire engineering analyses, design reports, modelling, and documentation.
• Undertake research, modelling, and analysis to support compliance with the National Construction Code (NCC), Australian Standards, and relevant legislation.
• Participate in client and design team meetings, workshops, and site inspections, supported by senior engineers.
• Contribute to internal improvement initiatives, such as developing templates, tools, and knowledge-sharing within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• Around one year of experience in the fire safety engineering or building design industry, ideally with some exposure to performance-based design.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with the NCC, fire safety standards, or performance-based design principles.
• Exposure to fire engineering software (e.g., FDS, CFAST) or other modelling tools (CFD, FEA) is beneficial.
