Albury Community Health Drug and Alcohol counsellor for a fixed term part-time position.

The Albury Community Drug and Alcohol Counsellor will be a valued member of the team to undertake counselling support to people experiencing harms related to drug and/or alcohol use. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
Tertary qualification in nursing, social work, psychology or allied health and holding a current registration with APHRA (where applicable) in area of practice.
Previous experience working with people who have identified drug and/or alcoghol related issues and demonstrated committment to own professional development to maintain, improve and broaden knowledge, expertise and competence within the drug and alcohol area.
Understanding harm minimisation and how it is utilised within this setting.
Ability to effectively use critical thinking skills to identify and solve problems in counselling and crisis interventions.
Demonstrated knowledge of conducting assessment, case planning, treatment and discharge planning.
Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment including the ability to communicate clearly in a variety of different settings and circumstances.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including ability to communicate clearly in a variety of different settings and circumstances, also computer literacy.
Employment Type: This is a part-time of 5 days per fortnight fixed term opportunity,

About Albury Wodonga Health (AWH)
AWH serves as the largest regional healthcare provider between Sydney and Melbourne, situated in the border cities of Albury and Wodonga. Mental Health Services at Albury Wodonga Health
AWH is an Area Mental Health and Wellbeing Service, providing mental health treatment, care and support, including delivering Alcohol and Other Drugs services. We deliver 10 specialised community-based programs, along with three acute care services and three facilities dedicated to recovery and rehabilitation. We also provide services supporting families coping with parental mental illness and facilitating connections to carer consultants.
Our Mental Health and Wellbeing teams comprise mental health clinicians with a background in nursing, occupational therapy, social work, and psychology, all of whom have experience in helping people through a range of therapies. The diversity of our service provides a range of experiences for our team and will assist you in expanding and embedding your clinical practice skills.
