The Drug and Alcohol withdrawal nurse will be a valued member of the Albury Drug and Alcohol multi discipline team supporting clients engaged with the program to undertake a supported Community withdrawal. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.
1. Current registered nurse registered with AHPRA with at least five years nursing experience.
2. Demonstrated sound understanding of dependence, signs and symptoms of withdrawal and intoxication for the major drugs of abuse
3. Current driver's licence and an ability to travel for work purposes including home visits.
4. Demonstrated experience in providing a range of nursing interventions and supports to individuals experiencing, or at risk of withdrawal symptoms related to substance dependence including knowledge of the complex health and psychological needs within this client group.
5. Demonstrated sound theoretical understanding of the concepts of home (including Outpatient and Community) withdrawal management and an ability to use clinical assessment tools related to drug and alcohol withdrawal.
6. Demonstrated capacity to maintain accurate and complete documentation in the client record at all times in compliance with current record keeping policies and to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information in accordance with privacy regulations.
