Geology Superintendent| Mt Magnet | 8 days on, 6 days off
About Us
At Ramelius Resources, gold mining is more than a business—it's part of who we are. From our beginnings at Wattle Dam to becoming one of Australia's most successful gold producers, we've built our reputation on performance, innovation, and vision.
With strong cash flow, bold growth plans, and a commitment to sustainable mining, we're investing in new technology and exploration to shape the future of gold production. Our people are at the heart of it all—driven by purpose, supported by opportunity, and united by ambition. When we grow, you grow.
The Mt Magnet mining hub combines multiple open pit, underground, and satellite mines with a 17-year mine life ahead. At its core is the Galaxy underground, home to the high-grade Mars and Saturn lodes—open along strike and depth and backed by active drilling to unlock further resource growth. In addition, the Cue high grade open pit will transition towards underground mining during the coming year.
The Role
Reporting to the Geology Manager, the Geology Superintendent will oversee the operations of the Geology department, ensuring safe and efficient delivery of planned tonnes and grade. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring experience across both open pit and underground operations and primarily focussing on the leadership of the team including development of skills and capability at all levels.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining grade control strategies, procedures, and systems to optimise metal extraction
- Managing and upskilling a high-performing geology team
- Ensuring geological support meets the needs of mining, processing, and the Life of Mine plan
- Minimising ore dilution and maximising ore recovery
- Reviewing and developing Grade Control geological models to JORC 2012 guidelines
- Maintaining reconciliation processes and supporting mid- to long-term LOM planning
- Overseeing drilling, sampling, and QAQC programs, and providing robust geological reporting
- Supporting budgeting, scheduling, and cost tracking
- Promoting a strong HSE culture and proactively identifying hazards
About You
You are a strategic thinker with proven leadership experience in mine geology and a passion for delivering production outcomes. You bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Geology or Geosciences
- Significant experience in senior geological roles across both open pit and underground mining operations
- Strong knowledge of Archean greenstone gold systems
- Expertise in setting up and implementing geological processes and procedures
- Experience in supervising drilling, sampling, and QAQC programs
- Membership in MAUSIMM, MAIG, or equivalent professional organisation
- Proficiency with mining software such as Surpac, Leapfrog, Pronto, INX, and Microsoft packages
- Excellent planning, communication, and problem-solving skills
This exciting opportunity is offered on an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth, placing you at the heart of a growing gold producer during a strong phase of expansion. To attract top talent, a competitive salary package is on offer—featuring a generous short-term incentive scheme, health insurance rebate, and a range of additional benefits designed to reward your impact and commitment.
