About the Role:

As our HSSE Regulatory & Compliance Superintendent, you will partner with the Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer to lead compliant HSSE frameworks, secure government approvals, manage operational teams, and drive clear stakeholder communication and budget oversight for regulatory compliance. This is a FIFO role working a 4:3 Roster when at site, splitting your time equally between Beverley site (4:3) and Adelaide Corporate Office (5:2).

Responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Chief Safety and Sustainability Officer you will work closely with all aspects of the business.
  • Lead, coach, and guide site operational HSSE teams across safety, environment, radiation, and rehabilitation portfolios.
  • Monitor the status of company Key Performance Indicators relating to HSSE metrics and compile and present the information to the Senior Management Team.
  • Implementation of value-add approaches to regulatory monitoring ensuring compliance is maintained.
  • Identify potential HSSE issues and take the lead in workable, pragmatic sustainable solutions.
  • Ensure timely State and Federal Government approvals, prepare and follow through to approval of all permits/licences and regulatory documents.
  • Manage the HSSE department on a day-to-day basis.
  • The position has a high responsibility for setting, communicating and achieving key targets and goals, and developing timelines and budgets to accomplish those.
  • Written reporting, verbal communication/presentations and relationship building with all stakeholders so that pragmatic and effective monitoring/reporting arrangements are negotiated and implemented.
  • Other duties as reasonably required within the scope of the employee's skills and experience.

Essential Qualifications

  • National Police Check
  • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications (relevant fields could include but are not limited to Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Planning/Management, Environmental Science)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Radiation Licenses, or if not, prepared to complete the necessary training.
  • Tertiary or post graduate qualifications (relevant fields could include but are not limited to Earth Sciences, Hydrogeology, Engineering, Planning/Management, Environmental Science)
  • Membership of relevant professional organisations.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • High level of professional communication skills (report-writing, editorial skills, verbal, presentations).
  • Extensive experience in regulatory compliance reporting, and stakeholder engagement with State and Federal regulatory agencies.
  • Experience developing and maintaining safety management systems.
  • Experience in environment and radiation monitoring and reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and develop a high performing team with well-developed leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Experienced in effectively influencing others, identifying obstacles and collaborating across the business to achieve business objectives.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working as an ethical professional, and experience of working under pressure.
  • Advanced computer skills in standard MS software (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other programs as appropriate to the position.
  • Specific experience relating to implementing new systems effectively.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Basic knowledge of the fundamentals of geology and/or hydrogeology.
  • Experience developing and implementing Environment, Sustainability and Governance (ESG) frameworks
  • ISO 14001, 45001, 9001 auditing.
