Strategic Risk Specialist

The Cyber Security Unit's Governance, Risk and Assurance (GRA) team within the Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business is responsible for assisting Queensland Government agencies to lift their cyber governance, risk and assurance activities in line with the whole-of-government strategic direction.
As a member of the GRA team, your role as Strategic Risk Specialist will be key to supporting program management, engagement and delivery of cyber risk activities. You will lead and support delivery, research solutions, navigate and manage competing priorities and coordinate development of whole-of-government risk management guidance.
Working across the Queensland Government sector, this program aims to:
-Assess service and systems criticality at strategic levels to support risk analysis
-Undertake research and support facilitation of workshops
-Draft actionable guidance, educate and promote better practice risk analysis
-Support implementation of supply chain risk management initiatives.
Your responsibilities
As the Strategic Risk Specialist, you will:
-Develop, influence and manage relationships with and between internal and external stakeholders.
-Analyse security risk tools and techniques and support cross agency education.
-Support strategic threat assessments.
-Apply effective project planning, risk, change, quality, and resource management activities within the program to support successful delivery, following consistent application of CSU program and project management methodology.
-Manage the monitoring and reporting of the program's benefits, risks, issues, dependencies, schedule, finances, and general progress status.
-Promote and support a workplace culture of equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
-Demonstrated understanding of enterprise and cyber risk management.
-Demonstrated delivery experience in complex environments.
-Be an active and collaborative team player, ready to prioritise the goals of the function and able to adapt to changing circumstances.
-Experience in negotiation, consultation, facilitation, and the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally (with discretion where required) within a complex delivery environment.
-High level skills in relationship management, including strong stakeholder and vendor engagement abilities, with the capacity to influence and foster the development of positive working relationships (from technical to executive), to facilitate effective business change to accomplish organisational objectives.
-Demonstrated application of strategic thinking and planning
-Demonstrated experience in vendor, contract management and resource management.
-In addition, this role requires the leadership capabilities of a Program Leader
