About the role

As a Risk Specialist – Investment Operations and Performance, you will play a key role in supporting the Investment Operations and Performance team (IO&P) by providing first line risk support. You'll help embed a strong risk culture and ensure effective risk management practices are consistently applied in line with the ART Group Risk Management Framework (RMF).

Day to day, you'll:

  • Maintain and manage the IO&P risk profile and risk register.
  • Monitor risk exposures and lead mitigation planning when needed.
  • Embed risk practices across investment operations and performance processes.
  • Conduct risk assessments across operations, third-party providers, and Investment performance activities.
  • Support compliance, control reviews, and risk mitigation for IO&P control owners.
  • Provide clear risk reporting and insights to senior leaders and governance bodies.
  • Participate in governance forums related to operational risk, investment risk, and performance risk.
  • Manage incidents and issues, driving timely resolution and process improvement.

About you

It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too:

  • Proven experience in a Line 1 risk management role, ideally within investment operations or financial services.
  • Strong understanding of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and controls, particularly in investment operations or financial services.
  • Knowledge of enterprise risk, operational risk, and compliance requirements, including regulatory and governance expectations (e.g., APRA standards).
  • Experience embedding risk practices into business activities and operational processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement risk controls, assessments, and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience in risk reporting, governance forums, and risk monitoring.
