About the Opportunity

We're seeking a highly skilled
Senior Infrastructure Engineer
to support a major network transformation project within a leading federal agency. This role acts as the
dedicated escalation point
for complex infrastructure issues, providing expert guidance across a range of Fortinet and Azure technologies.

You'll play a key part in ensuring network reliability, security, and performance during a critical phase of implementation and post-deployment support. The role offers a mix of strategic input, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical escalation point for complex network and infrastructure issues.
  • Provide specialist advice on
    Fortinet SD-WAN, FortiGate, FortiClient, FortiSASE, FortiSandbox, and Azure NVA deployments
    .
  • Support design, implementation, and troubleshooting within
    Azure Cloud Infrastructure
    environments.
  • Map and document network data flows across secure and cross-domain environments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network diagrams and documentation using
    Microsoft Visio
    .
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and knowledge transfer across the project team.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience working in a
    secure, enterprise-grade ICT environment
    .
  • Deep hands-on expertise with
    Fortinet products and Azure Cloud networking
    .
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to engage confidently with both technical and business teams.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, particularly in documentation and technical reporting.
  • Experience developing network maps, architecture diagrams, and configuration guides using
    Visio
    .
  • Australian Citizenship and eligibility for Baseline clearance are mandatory.
