Infrastructure Engineer

Marvel Professional Services is recruiting experienced
Infrastructure Engineers
to support solution deployment and configuration within the
law enforcement
ICT environment. You'll work alongside APS personnel and trusted vendors to design, implement, optimise and retire infrastructure across physical, virtual, networking and cloud platforms.

What you'll do

• Deliver Infrastructure Engineer / Systems Administrator services for deployments and configurations in the client's ICT environment.
• Provide technical direction to vendors delivering professional services on behalf of the client.
• Design and configure infrastructure to support business applications.
• Offer technical leadership in a small, high-performing team.
• Create clear documentation, diagrams and procedures and transfer knowledge to permanent staff.
• Record and maintain information in line with client's requirements.

Tech you'll touch
(you don't need all, but strong depth across several)

• Windows Server
  : configuration/administration incl. AD/ADFS, IIS/web roles.
• Linux
  : administration, optimisation and fault resolution (Ubuntu / RHEL).
• Scripting
  : PowerShell (and related automation).
• Virtualisation
  : VMware vSphere.
• Databases
  : Microsoft SQL Server (optimisation, version upgrades, consolidation, virtualisation).
• Storage & Backup
  : Dell technologies including NetWorker & Isilon.
• Bonus points
  (
  highly desirable
  ):
• RHEL/Ubuntu at expert level (e.g., Red Hat Satellite).
• Automation with
  Ansible
  and other engines.
• Containers
  and orchestration experience.
• Security tooling:
  WSUS, SCCM, Nessus, Nmap, SELinux
  , and firewall management.

What you bring
(Mandatory)

• Proven design, configuration and support experience for
  Microsoft Windows-based ICT services
  .
• Experience delivering complex business solutions on infrastructure/cloud, with the ability to identify and resolve technical & security requirements, test considerations, operational concerns, and system constraints
• Demonstrated compliance with
  security assessments, system configuration, change management
  and documentation standards in the
  Federal Government
  sector (especially national security contexts).
