About Us:
We are a small but steadily growing accounting firm with a team of five based in Australia. We are part of an international group affiliated with a respected Japanese accounting firm headquartered in Asia. Our clients include local Japanese-owned businesses, Australian subsidiaries of Japanese corporations, and high-net-worth individuals with ties to Japan. While some of our clients operate at a high level, new team members typically start with smaller accounts and grow into more complex work as they gain experience.

About the Role:
We are seeking a bilingual (Japanese/English) accountant to support our client base. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a small, flexible team, develop professionally, and gradually take on more challenging assignments in the Japanese-Australian business space.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in delivering accounting and tax services for Japanese-speaking clients

  • Use Xero and Xero Practice Manager (XPM) to manage client records and workflows

  • Communicate with clients via Teams, Zoom, and email

  • Prepare financial statements, tax returns, and supporting documentation

  • Learn and adapt to client needs while working independently

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in both Japanese and English (spoken and written)

  • Solid computer skills, particularly in Xero, XPM, Excel, MS Word, Teams, and Zoom

  • 2 to 5 years of accounting experience in Australia

  • Self-motivated and efficient – we're a small team, and everyone contributes

  • Ability to learn independently and solve problems proactively
