With LOD, you get all the best bits of being a lawyer - interesting work with some of the world's most exciting organisations, plus the flexibility and freedom to live your life how you want.
Who are we looking for?
We're currently seeking environmental and planning lawyers for upcoming assignments involving advisory and regulatory work across infrastructure, renewables, and resources projects. These roles offer the opportunity to work on complex matters such as planning approvals, environmental impact assessments, land access and acquisition, and regulatory interactions at all levels of government.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Minimum 4+ years' post-admission experience in environment, planning, or related regulatory areas
- Familiarity with NSW planning and environmental frameworks (or similar transferable experience)
- Strong communication skills and a pragmatic, solutions-focused approach
- Experience advising government or infrastructure clients is highly regarded
- Ability to manage competing deadlines across complex matters with multiple stakeholders
What sets us apart?
People join us for a range of reasons - the life of an LOD lawyer is like no other.
- We're an Employer of Choice: for the fifth year in a row, we've been recognised as an Employer of Choice by Australasian Lawyer. We're even prouder that we've received an employee NPS score across Australia of 81 which is recognised as "ground-breaking".

- You call the shots: We take work-life balance pretty seriously. You can work on-site with our clients or remotely, undertake full-time or part-time assignments, or assignments that are for set months of a year – it's your choice
- You're never on your own: Throughout your LOD career, you'll become part of a community. You'll be supported by your LOD colleagues and our HQ team, have access to mentoring programs and high quality know-how, LOD social events, and receive regular training to assist in your ongoing growth and development.
