As a Parent Engagement Practitioner of the School Attendance Support Program, you will:
- Promote the SASP program within the Narre Warren area and surrounding suburbs, to primary schools, families and services.
- Undertake screening, intake and assessment of families referred to the SASP program.
- Actively engage with families waiting for allocation, maintaining regular contact and providing support when required.
- Provide brief intervention support to families that are referred to SASP, but where the program's wait list is at capacity or where the family may not fully meet SASP eligibility criteria.
The School Attendance Support Program (SASP) is an innovative program servicing the Narre Warren area and surrounding suburbs that aims to support children and their families to improve primary school attendance. SASP works with families when children are starting to display early signs of school can't behaviours exploring the barriers to a child's school attendance and supporting early and sustainable change. SASP is a free and voluntary program funded through Communities For Children Cranbourne.

You will bring:
- A degree in social work, psychology or a related tertiary qualification relevant to child and family welfare
- A good understanding of the 'Best Interests' framework, CYFA 2005 and the Child Protection system
- Sound knowledge of child development and experience in working with challenging behaviours
- Demonstrated knowledge and insight into barriers to school attendance and related issues such as family violence
- Demonstrated ability as a practitioner in the child, youth and family welfare field
- Valid and current Driver's Licence
