About the role
This position works withthe CEO and exercise instructors todeliver evidence-based assessments and interventions to Balwyn Evergreen clients. The focus is on retaining current clients, growing class sizes and developing new innovative exercise and movement classes. The role includes a strategic focus on health, allied health or rehabilitation services that may support clients in maintaining strength, health and wellbeing and link them into ongoing exercise programs. Managing fitness instructors to ensure continuity of classes as well as achieving variety and interest, is another area of focus. The Exercise Coordinator will also ensure classes are delivered in accordance with grant agreements and comply with the Aged Care Act and standards.

What you will bring
You are a degree-qualified Exercise Physiologist (or Occupational Therapist) with current accreditation and adherence to PD requirements. You are compassionate and are committed to client satisfaction and the provision of prompt, attentive services. You will be a Team player demonstrating collaboration with colleagues, clients and stakeholders.
To thrive in this role, you will have:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in delivering centre-based exercise programs for older people living in the community.
Excellent interpersonal skills for communicating with a diverse range of volunteers, older people and colleagues and sensitivity in working with a range of diverse cultures.
Experience in working with older people living with dementia and chronic illness.
Proven ability to independently assess and prescribe clinical exercise in line with current best practice guidelines.
Ability to identify issues early and develop practical solutions to mitigate risk.
You will be required to provide evidence of or be prepared to obtain:
- A current NDIS
- Accreditation in Exercise Physiology with ESSA (or APHRA if an Occupational Therapist)
- Strong Communication skills
- Proof of current influenza vaccination and other vaccination status consistent with public health orders.
