• Part-time hours of 15 hours per week with 2 shifts in Calista (Wednesday and Thursday morning groups) and 2 shifts in East Waikiki (Tuesday and Friday morning groups)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an Early Years Community Practitioner to join us at our Child and Parent Centres (CPC) in Calista and East Waikiki. The successful candidate will inspire and model quality early childhood education practice in line with Ngala's strategic direction, business plan, service model and contractual obligations.

DUTIES

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:


• Provide learning opportunities for parents and their 0-8 years, in line with Ngala's evidence-based practice


• Develop strengths and resilience of parents so they can be more effective in helping themselves and their families achieve change and improve outcomes.


• Enable families to develop effective social support and community connections.


• Lead and model quality childhood practice across Ngala services and to other local community groups and organisations.


• Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with a variety of local government and non-government agencies to develop, implement and support Early Childhood initiatives.


• Act as a resource for families regarding early parenting and child development.

ABOUT YOU

The successful candidate will be highly organised and have a strong administration background together with the following:


• Qualification in Children Services or equivalent – Cert III / Cert IV / Associate Diploma / Diploma of Social Science Children Services, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or Bachelor of Social Science, Children & Family Studies.


• Effective interpersonal, relationship building skills, and excellent communication skills with both adults and children.


• Demonstrated knowledge of early childhood development, early parenting and psychosocial impacts on families with young children.


• Understanding trends in early childhood practice.


• Intermediate/Proficient Administration level of competency


• Intermediate IT levels of competency.


• Excellent communication skills.


• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills.


• Current WA driver's licence


• Current Working with Children Check


• Department of Education National Criminal History Check
