About the role
We are seeking an Associate Director to join the Strategy & Deals team. As an Associate Director, you will work alongside all team members in the team, and at times the wider Tenet business, including the leadership team. We expect this person to be a key contributor to the work, to the team, and to client management and meetings.
We provide value to our clients through a variety of different projects and services in areas of: Growth Strategy, CEO Transition and Transformation, Cost Optimisation, Merger Integration, M&A Advisory, Capital Raise to name a few. We work on exciting and engaging projects across a range of different sectors including retail, energy transformation, healthcare, media, professional services etc. A majority of the work we do is project based, with structured and tight scopes of work. All projects are unique in terms of the problem to solve, and the approach to solving it. The role will provide the successful candidate the opportunity to learn and grow in a supportive and immersive environment.
About you
We're looking for someone with
Consulting, Advisory, Private Equity, Investment Banking, or Big 4 experience
who is ready to take the next step in their career by gaining exposure to a wide range of challenges and learning opportunities.
The successful candidate will understand how Strategy & Deals engagements work from a day-to-day perspective (project set up, project management, client engagement and delivery) and have a perspective on where we can provide clients with additional value. They are inherently curious, excited by the prospect of always doing new things, have a desire to innovate and disrupt, are hungry to learn, and want to do impactful work while helping to build great brands.

Some of the specific capabilities and credentials we're interested in are:
- 4-8 years of relevant experience
with focus on
strategy, transformation, growth and/or deals
(M&A and Capital Raise) - Strong financial acumen and financial skills (P&L, B/S, cash flow, working capital), including the ability to analyse financial statements to assess company performance relative to peers
- Experience across a variety of transaction types including buyside, sell-side and/or capital raising (debt or equity)
- Demonstrated ability to prepare valuation analysis and guide the team to refine valuation outcomes
- Track record preparing and reviewing marketing materials ensuring key selling messages are well communicated
- Demonstrated accountability during due diligence and ability to mitigate issues
- Support clients across multiple sectors to analyse data and determine business performance (e.g., financial modelling, data and analytics, EBITDA, multiples, ROI)
- Significant experience in leading strategy (e.g. market research, competitor analysis, capability builds, growth pathways, implementation roadmaps, business case), synergy / integrations or business improvement projects and business planning
- Deep understanding of critical business drivers and issues.
- Strong foundational knowledge of core business concepts – e.g. growth, strategy, supply chain, pricing, technology, operations, costs – with deep expertise in a few elements
- Demonstrated ability to assess the performance of a business against KPIs to outline improvement opportunities
- Ability to set up and lead transformation or strategy agendas for a business
- Exceptional attention to detail, in relation to project management, working in a team, client engagement
- Capability to engage with Senior Leaders and Executives and proactively lead the process by actively managing all stakeholders
- Ability to lead and coach a team that includes not only Tenet staff but on occasion staff from the client, subject matter experts and other externals.
- Strong time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work across multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills

This role can be Melbourne or Sydney based.
