We are now seeking an experienced Deputy Operations Manager to join our team in Canberra. This pivotal role supports the Operations Manager in leading logistics, safety, and environmental compliance across the organisation — ensuring our products and projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and sustainably.
About the Role
As the Deputy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supporting operational excellence across the business. This includes managing logistics and equipment movements, overseeing compliance and safety systems, and contributing to product support processes from design through delivery.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Coordinating onsite acceptance and delivery of products.
- Supporting the design process to ensure uniformity and cost efficiency in product parts and spares.
- Developing and maintaining operations manuals and spare parts lists.
- Managing national and international equipment and supply movements.
- Liaising with manufacturers to ensure compliance with design and quality standards.
- Conducting safety assessments on products and workplace environments.
- Maintaining hazard logs, safety cases, and compliance documentation.
- Leading internal and external audits on safety and environmental systems.
- Promoting continuous improvement and environmental responsibility across all operations.
About You
You will bring a balance of technical understanding, leadership ability, and operational discipline to help ECLIPS continue to deliver excellence in complex engineering environments.
Qualifications and experience:
- Project Management qualification or at least 3 years' relevant experience achieving project milestones on time and on budget.
- Qualification in Engineering-Mechanical Trade or Engineering-Fabrication (Highly Regarded)
- Proven understanding of Defence Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) processes.
- Experience in business improvement and configuration management.
- Familiarity with Defence procurement and ASDEFCON tendering processes.
- Strong understanding of WHS, risk management, and environmental compliance.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
