About the role:
John Hunter Hospital provides targeted recruitment for all Nursing and Midwifery positions. This position is pivotal to support indigenous staff and enhance our ability to provide a culturally safe workplace.
Orientation is delivered at both the beginning and end of each week and includes staff rounding, dedicated cultural supervision, and participation in activities such as annual cultural celebrations, meetings, and consultation forums.
Each orientation program is individually tailored to meet the needs of the successful applicant, with ongoing cultural supervision and support provided to foster growth, connection, and success.

Requirements:
Our successful candidate will possess the following:
- Current registration or eligible for registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with AHPRA and hold relevant clinical or education post registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the organisation.
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment or equivalent (i.e. Enterprise Trainer Presenting Skill Set).
- Applicants must be of Aboriginal descent through parentage, identification as being Aboriginal and accepted in the community as such. Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14(d) of the Antidiscrimination Act 1997.
