Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant

Location: Brisbane or Gold Coast, Queensland

The Client:

Zylo has teamed up with a well established and forward-thinking law firm committed to providing exceptional legal services to their clients. We are seeking a talented and dedicated Family Law Paralegal / Legal Assistant to join their team. This role can be based in Brisbane or on the Gold Coast.

Position Summary:

As a Family Law Paralegal/Legal Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting their attorneys in various family law matters, including divorce, child custody, and property division.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting legal research and analysis related to family law matters
  • Preparing and drafting legal documents, such as affidavits, parenting plans, and financial disclosure statements
  • Assisting with case management, including scheduling hearings, organizing evidence, and managing deadlines
  • Communicating effectively with clients, attorneys, opposing counsel, and court personnel
  • Providing support during mediation or court proceedings

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of family law procedures and regulations
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Proficiency in legal software and database systems
