About the role

The Director of Medical Services is responsible for partnering across Eastern Health to deliver a strong medical governance framework for the profession, to deliver Eastern Health's vision of Healthier Together. The Director of Medical Services is a specialist medical practitioner with the knowledge and skills to uniquely lead the optimization of health outcomes for individuals and their communities. 

Reporting to the Executive Director Medical and Clinical Governance, Eastern Health is seeking a casual FRACMA qualified Director of Medical Services. The casual role may include sessions supporting Operations Senior Leadership, Medical Workforce Unit, Eastern Health Institute and People and Culture. The Director of Medical Services may hold specific portfolios, complimenting the other Director of Medical Services portfolios to deliver the full breadth of Medical and Clinical Governance expertise across Eastern Health.

The position would suit a recently graduated/early career RACMA Fellow, seeking to expand their career experiences within the setting of a collegiate and supportive team.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will possess:

• Eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a legally qualified medical practitioner
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators or equivalent
• Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
• A strong commitment to high quality care
• The ability to work as part of a diverse team
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
