MacKillop Family Services is seeking dedicated individuals to join our Out of Home Care team, working alongside children and young people with complex needs in a supportive, therapeutic residential environment. In the role of Residential Youth Care Worker, you'll help create a safe home, respond to daily and emotional needs, and empower young people to develop confidence and essential life skills.

This is a fulltime/ parttime /casual opportunity based throughout our Wimmera Southwest region within our Out of Home Care Program. This position reports to the Regional Coordinator.

Key Selection Criteria:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or if you hold a similar or relevant qualification such as a Diploma of Community Services, Social Work, or another related tertiary qualification you're also encouraged to apply.
  • A genuine interest in young people and their wellbeing.
  • Demonstrate empathy for young people in our care in an open minded and nonjudgmental manner.
  • Highly developed capacity for emotional self-regulation including the capacity to set and maintain consistent boundaries to provide safety, stability and consistency.

You must have a:

  • Valid and current Driver's Licence;
  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (paid for by MacKillop);
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check;
