The Opportunity

We're looking for a skilled Industrial Electrician to join our Sydney-based team. In this role, you'll carry out electrical installation work for industrial clients, with a strong emphasis on hazardous area compliance.

This opportunity is well suited to an experienced electrician with a background in process-driven industrial environments. You should be confident interpreting electrical plans and schematics, diagnosing faults, and contributing to a safe, positive, and productive site culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Glanding and terminating in hazardous areas
  • Electrical installations and commissioning
  • Completing Hazardous Area ITRs and compliance documentation
  • Working to Australian Standards and OH&S guidelines
  • Supervise and mentor apprentices, providing guidance and support for their professional development.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in hazardous area electrical work
  • Experience in panel wiring, cable tray installation, motor controls, instrument termination, and electrical drawings
  • Exposure to PLC systems (Allen-Bradley preferred)
  • Industry experience across refrigeration, utilities, manufacturing, or food processing is highly regarded

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A current Electrical Licence
  • Certificate IV in Hazardous Areas – Electrical (UEE42622 or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working in industrial or manufacturing environments
  • A strong commitment to safety and compliance
  • A self-motivated, team-oriented approach with strong communication skills

To be successful in this role, you will need to answer the following questions upon application:

  • What is the purpose of a Hazardous Area Dossier?
  • Can Ex "ic" equipment be installed in Zone 0?
  • What is the function of a resin- or putty-filled Ex d cable gland in Zone 1?
  • Do you have a current electrical licence?
